The VIC 20 Quick Reference Guide compiles charts, maps, and data for the Commodore VIC 20, VC 20 Volks, and VIC-1001 computer platform.

This is not an instructional guide; there is very little explanatory text.  It collects tables and information for users already familiar with the computer.   sleepingelephant.com/denial

Available in digital or print format worldwide:

  • Digital: interactive PDF download (free here)
  • Amazon: traditional paperback (very affordable)
  • Lulu: spiral bound, lay-flat handbook (better)

Pictured below is a first-print run.  The page order is slightly changed and the back cover is different in the print copies available now.

Above is an image of three format versions side by side.   Left to right: First print (wire bound), Amazon (traditional binding), and Lulu (coil binding).

Version 1.2 has minor typo corrections (two names were transposed in the acknowledgements, an asterisk was missing in the VICMON description).   Print copies have now been updated.  Current and future revisions shall no longer have version number on the cover.

I purchased the download and the print book. This is a very useful reference, thanks for making it Jeffrey

Thank you, Dach99!

Bought this from Lulu a few weeks ago now. A great reference. Thank you, Jeffrey.

Thanks, Xerra!

The Lulu.com website says the book is paperback and not spiral bound ?

(1 edit)

Lulu is spiral bound.  I added images in the description.

Just purchased a digital copy of the book, thank you very much! Just wondering, the digital version is v0.9 but I can see that the physical books are v1.1, is it possible to get the revised digital version or are the updates only relevant for printed versions?

Updates shall be posted.  Only minor adjustments have been made so far.

I've just received version 1.1 of your book (from Lulu), and it's still a wonderful tool. Thank you so much !

Thank you for your support!

Did you write Fun & Games back in the day?

Nope.  I wish. ha

A truly great resource!

thanks!

BTW I received the printed book today. It is the version with a spiral and it is very nice. Definitely an useful resource.

It's a great tool for me who has been discovering the joys of programming on Vic 20 for 2 years now. I would love to have a paper copy of your book, how to do it ?

Thank you!  I am setting print copies up now.  The print run will be limited based on interest.  At the moment, I am correcting typos.  Update coming soon.

Hello ! Thank you a lot, If I have to pay extra for shipping the printed version (I live in France!), there is no problem, I will pay it. Have a good day !
